I read this in 1974, on a non-stop, 6 hour plane flight, from LAX to San Juan, P.R. You had to keep your voice down, because it was a red-eye. Normally, this was not a problem for me.
However, 35 mins. into this, the flight attendant banished me to rear coach, because I could not suppress the laughter, and the people around me thought I was crazy. I was.
It was, a riot. Read it.
The doctor examining Crip, turned and said
"Well, why don't we ask Walter, what he thinks??"
"Who's Walter??"
Crip "That's Me, Ma."
It was a total disappointment! I ordered a hardback copy and it arrived as a dark old paperback. It was to be a gift and I was very disappointed! I had to reorder and it was a late surprise. It came from England and was fine.
Really silly and uninteresting.
I read this years ago,I remember it being laugh out loud funny,and this book went at lightning speed from,my Dad,Stepmother,me,my best friend,his Mom,Dad in like two weeks

Growing up in a Jewish family in the 1930s. I have many Jewish friends and enjoyed the idioms and riotous situations very much.
