The book is entertaining, you can tell the author has done his homework regarding the Roman Legions, the Roman nobility, and the zombie genre. This is well-written, the story begins with a zombie outbreak in Germany and the heroic efforts of the legions to save themselves. There's also a party where a zombie is the party favor, and he breaks lose and wrecks havoc.If you're a fan of World War Z and the zombie genre, you will enjoy this. Same goes for fans of Marching With Caesar and other Roman novels.

Zombies and the roman legion, what an interesting idea!
An army of the undead against warriors armed with steel. I loved this idea and the book did not disappoint. I will look for more from this author.
Following in the footsteps of Empire of the Undead and Scourge of Byzantium, Mr. Whitehead has created compelling story. The story quickly grabs you and refuses to let go. A good mix of action and story development is occasionally marred by editing issues. If not for those issues, five stars.
Hello, this is a really great story. Don't see many like this. Set in the days of very old, where monsters were fought with steel and strength. Damn fine stuff. Thanks.
The story itself is fast moving, action-packed, and captures the setting very well. However, the repeated use of the word 'okay' by various characters was so out pf place, and so off-putting that I had to put it down. 'Okay' is a 20th century English-language word that was not used, or even known in the time of the Roman Empire. Some other phrases also skirted the edge of modern dialogue as well, but none so much as the use of 'okay'.
With the author's attention to so much detail of Roman times, it's mystifying that he would have characters using modern words and phrases throughout the story? It started to read like 'Legion Of The Undead 90210'.
All I have to say is wow. Wasn't so sure how Legion of the Undead would be..... zombies and Romans, I mean, who would have thought this would be a good idea for a series ?? Legion of the Undead is a book I cannot put down. Not your typical zombie book that's for sure. One of the things I love about it the most is there is no military with big guns or armored vehicles with which to fight the zombies. This is just a fight for survival at it's basic level along with honor and betrayal as well. I thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Whitehead's Legion of the Undead and have already started book 2 ( and I am almost finished reading that one ). Zombies and Romans ????, I mean who would have thought this would be a good idea for a series ??? I am very glad Mr. Michael Whitehead did.
